The Ryder Course at The PGA Golf Club is named in honor of Samuel Ryder, the namesake and founder of the Ryder Cup. The Ryder Cup began in 1927 and brings together the finest tour professionals of the United States and Europe in a biennial match-play competition that captivates the golf world. Opened in 1996, The Ryder Course (formerly The North Course) has hosted the Callaway Golf Senior PGA Professional National Championship, the TaylorMade-Adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship, the Special Olympics National Invitational Championship and the National Minority Collegiate Championship. With its rolling hills, majestic pine trees and challenging water hazards, the course has a distinctive Carolina-feel. With various hole locations, you could play this course every day and find a different layout.
