6600 Robert Trent Jones biggest fear when building the Cashen in 1970, was building anything in such a mythical site could be fatal to any architect's career. With a fine piece of property and vast experience, he designed something different to compliment the Old Course. The Cashen has a little American feel to it with course management/approach shots but designed the course with 18 personalities to enjoy, showing that length isn't always needed on a course. A must play anywhere else in the world, the course is usually forgotten on one's first trip to Ireland. Definately not the second though.
